Plácido plot
In a small Spanish town, a group of old ladies decide to spend Christmas Eve with "a poor man at the table". Every rich family in town will have dinner with a bum that night. The festivities also include a parade, in which we find Plácido, the owner of a tricycle, whose family is forced to live in a public toilet because they have no money for the rent. He has to make the last payment for his tricycle before the end of the evening, otherwise he will lose the bike.
