Phillip Philadelphia plot
Phillip is wasting away in a dilapidated motel room. He is British and a screenwriter by profession, although he doesn't write much anymore these days. He is more interested in wasting his time, chasing fantasies, and intoxicating excesses, while the line between the two becomes increasingly blurred. In this, he is aided and encouraged by an aspiring actor with whom he is flirting – although Phillip suspects the younger man is primarily interested in his connections in show business – and by the drug dealer from next door.
