Dwight Houston is a Texan who transports combat aircraft to the RAF in England during WWII. When he suddenly finds himself in a dogfight, he has to make an emergency landing and meets the cool British Leonora Perrycoate on the spot. After some delay, the two fall for each other but both are already in a relationship. They flee to neutral Lisbon, where they end up in an espionage case.
