Next Friday plot

"The suburbs make the hood look good."

In the sequel to 1995's "Friday", Craig (played by Ice Cube) is again hot on the heels of Debo, who has escaped from prison. As a precaution, Craig's father arranges for him to go into hiding with relatives, who live in a quiet, wealthy neighborhood after winning the lottery. Once there, however, Craig and his cousin Day-Day experience so much that South Central is nothing to do with it.

First part (Friday) not seen. But if it's as bad as this one, I certainly don't need to see it. This movie was really bad except for a few funny moments.
I thought that scene with the vacuum cleaner was very funny but otherwise I didn't like it. 2*

Apparently seen before.

Not bad, because it looks nice, is nice and smooth and it is so bland that it is fun again. Some nice characters too and the cast to play it.

3.5* Ever go and watch part 1 and part 3.

With the second film in the franchise, things move from the ghetto to a suburb where the richer people live. This is because Ice Cube's character is on the run from the gangster bully on his bike from part 1, who escaped from prison after Ice Cube won the fight between the two.

This is a fun premise and makes the second part feel like a sequel and not a rehearsal. Now this should not be taken too literally, because just like Ice Cube says at the end of the film: "I'm going back to my neighborhood, because I love it here". Just like in part 1, there is plenty to do on this crazy day and there are enough strange characters walking around to eventually create a crazy atmosphere. The setting doesn't matter for all the craziness that takes place on this crazy day. It's just a shame that Debo then hides in a car for almost the entire movie. More could have been done with that.

Just like part 1, these kinds of films have to suit you. It's a lot of swearing and swearing as you can expect with this type of film, often with a dynamic between man and woman that makes me smile, but perhaps only frowns the eyebrows of others. So don't expect a thigh chatter with well-thought-out jokes. It's more of the overall laidback vibe with a lot of motherfuckers giving the film a boost.

3.0*
