Graphic artist Jan Börner's life is not going as he had envisioned it. While his wife is making a career, his is in the doldrums. When his ex, who works in a publishing house, sees possibilities in Jan's comic strip about the apartment building in which the family has been living for a year, Jan revives. However, his wife and the neighbors are less happy about it.
