When Professor Léonard Bontagues, who was working on a secret formula for a super fuel, is found dead, his assistant Vincent Fleuret is followed by both the police who believe he is the killer and the underworld who think he knows the formula. Fortunately, there is the young journalist Renée Lancel who believes in his innocence and tries to gather evidence to clear him of all blame.
