Successful composer Robert Ellin (Paul Hubschmid) discovers that his wife is cheating on him and wants a divorce. On a trip to Europe he meets his old saxophonist George Webb. On arrival, Webb is mistaken for Ellin and the composer, fed up with the press and concerts, realizes that it is useful to switch identities with Webb: in order to finalize the divorce, Ellin does not have to deal with a woman for six weeks. be seen by another woman.
