Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch plot
"AMERICA'S MOST LOVABLE FAMILY COMES TO LIFE ON THE SCREEN!"
mrs. Elvira Wiggs cares for her children with love, but has not had it since her husband left her three years ago to search for gold. Son Jimmy turns out to be severely malnourished and Dr. Redmond decides to hospitalize him. Obviously, the Wiggs family cannot afford this. Hospital head Olcott demands that the bed be made available for a paying customer and the Children's Aid Society demands that Wiggs' children be moved out of the house because the woman is apparently unable to care for them properly. Then Elvira's husband also returns, but he thinks she has remarried in the meantime.
