Do you know someone who is too beautiful and too good? So lovable that you want to hit them? Well, that's Bob, 34 years old, witty and lacking in confidence. But then Bob meets the right girl, smart and stunning. Her beauty turns out to be a problem, because Bob now has to compete with someone. Eric has known Bob for 15 years. They lived together as roommates when they first arrived in New York. Eric is more or less forced to move in with Bob again. During the move, Bob brings his new girlfriend Mona with him. She is 22 and has a wealthy background, but she wants to do everything on her own. She longs for a 'bohemian' lifestyle that she read about in books, but her temporary job thwarts her dreams. Just at this moment Mona meets Eric. He quickly tries to flirt with her, half hoping she'll give him a spin, but she doesn't. Mona loves Bob, but with Eric there are sparks. With Eric and Bob living together again, Mona is the minefield between the two men. Are the guys kidding themselves about her, or is this love worth losing a best friend?
