Molly McKay is a young autistic woman who has been in an institution for years. When government subsidies are cut, there is no place for Molly and her brother Buck is forced to take care of her. The reunion is not exactly cordial. After all, Buck is terrified that his sister will turn his carefree life upside down. And that fear is not unfounded. After a few months Buck sees his relationship on the rocks, he is fired and he hardly has any friends. The big turning point in the troubled sibling relationship comes when Molly undergoes an experimental treatment.
