The journalist Thomas Ahrens travels with an East German delegation to an international fashion festival. But instead of doing his job, he must try to save his skin. After all, he is confused with a French couturier, a man who tries to eliminate the competition from London and Rome. He can cleverly dodge the attacks, because he is equipped with the most sophisticated resources, supplied to him by Miss Mabel, the boss of the English 'Gentlemen'. Then he falls in love with the beautiful Eva, closely guarded by his uncle...
