Miss Catastrophe plot

Elvire Mercier, a young painter wants to sell some of her paintings to an American banker. A mobster passes himself off as the same banker with the intention of later committing a robbery. Unconscious of nothing, Elvire sells him a few paintings and is mistaken for a thief himself through a misunderstanding.
