A strange film that naturally makes a big show of the material it works with. Minnie's Midnight Massacre was reworked by director Brett Bentman, and that certainly doesn't set high expectations. Essentially, the whole Disney thing feels dragged in by the hair, and the story in this film could have easily stood on its own. The acting is reasonably good, but the balance between horror and comedy is severely skewed, the murders are anything but compelling, and the overall look appears very cheap. It is quite remarkable how little attention can be paid to a film that could certainly have embraced its pulp side. Unfortunately, the approach largely chosen is to wrap things up as quickly as possible, resulting in a very uninteresting affair lacking any highlights.
