The beautiful Anjali Sharma (Sanjana) and Sanjay Malhotra (Uday Chopra) have been friends since childhood. Anjali falls in love with Sanjay, but Sanjay is shy and doesn't dare to express his feelings, causing Anjali to give up because she thinks the love is not mutual. She meets the handsome Rohit and the couple decides to get married. Sanjay's heart is broken but he doesn't reveal anything and even helps with the preparations for the planned wedding.
