Mentiras Piadosas plot
Pablo, a mother's favorite son, travels to Paris in the 1950s to disappear. Jorge and Nora, his brother and sister, decide to hide this bitter truth from their mother, who is in poor health. They start writing letters that supposedly come from Pablo, who is said to be a successful musician there. Mother, eager for Pablo to return to Buenos Aires, convinces Patricia (Pablo's betrothed) to start preparing for the wedding. Patricia finds it curious, but is drawn to the strange behavior of Jorge, who has left the family business to write his brother's "adventures". A sexual tension develops between the two and further problems arise.
