Mary Ellen Comes to Town plot

Mary Ellen lives in a small village. The passing New York City train is the most entertaining thing she sees on an average day. By a happy coincidence, she receives an introductory card from a New York theater producer to work as an entertainer at the Coster Cabaret. However, it is also the home of the evil Willie the Weasel and his band. He tries to get his hands on the fortune recently inherited by Bob Fairacres, who also happens to be from Mary Ellen's village. Willie then forces Mary Ellen to help him by casting suspicion on her for theft.
