Years ago, Karl Schmidt disappeared from the scene after a nervous breakdown, the very day the Berlin Wall fell. In the mid-1990s, some friends from then find him in a drug addiction facility in Hamburg. And that suits them just fine: because they are planning a rave tour of Germany with their successful techno record label, they need someone who always has to stay sober. And for that, Karl, who has sworn to stay off drugs, is just the right person.
