Madame Du Barry plot
After the death of his mistress Madame Pompadour, King Louis XV of France has no plans to fall in love again. But when Duke De Richelieu introduces him to Madame Du Barry, Louis falls madly in love with her. She orders him and infuriates the court with her extravagant demands. On a hot summer day, she asks for a sleigh ride. Louis's followers make sure that there is no sugar in Paris because it is supposed to serve as snow for her pleasure. Only Duc d'Aiquillon has the courage to oppose these extravagant excesses and inform the king of the prevailing discontent and unrest among the people of France.
