Dexter Jackson works with his sister and girlfriend at the dry cleaners his parents left him. However, his dream is to become a television reporter. After accidentally reporting a hostage situation, Dexter is offered a job at Channel Four. He does everything he can to work his way up in the television world, but loses sight of the really important things. In addition, he discovers that his television image is making him more and more "whiter".
