Laughter plot

"The emotion-swept romance of a modern woman who found that life without laughter is living death"

Young Peggy is a dancer. She believes she has achieved her life goal by marrying businessman and millionaire C. Morton Gibson. Unfortunately, the marriage to the good-natured but humorless Gibson turns out to be very boring. Peggy therefore quickly looks for entertainment outside the home. Peggy meets her ex-boyfriend Paul Lockridge. Paul is now a composer, who seems to have a funny joke at every opportunity.
