"Flooding a Million Hearts With Summer Sunshine...."
To make ends meet, go-getter Sarah Austin runs a boarding house in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, she also keeps an eye out for her unemployed and indecisive husband Joe and her beautiful teenage daughter Alice. Unhappy that Alice is attracted to the heartfelt but impoverished inventor Larry Owens, Sara encourages her daughter to hang out with Bill Hepburn. Sarah believes he comes from a wealthy Boston family. When one day Larry sees Alice and Bill hugging, he shows Bill his jealousy.
