Venla and Antero have been together for a long time and their relationship has slowly reached an impasse. Venla is in fact ready to start a family. Her boyfriend, worried that fatherhood will stand in the way of his career as a speed skater, secretly has a vasectomy performed. Venla does not get pregnant. Determined to conceive a child, she seeks help from a fertility specialist. When Venla falls in love with her, a new world of possibilities opens up for the future mother.
