La Donna Più Bella del Mondo plot
Rome, 1905. After defending her from an intrusive spectator, revue singer Lina Cavalieri falls instantly in love with the Russian prince Sergei, who is stationed as ambassador in Paris. Lina's classical music teacher Doria, who secretly hopes that she will one day become his wife, takes her to the French capital. But Sergei is no longer there; he has been recalled to Russia. Lina breaks up with Doria and starts a successful vaudeville song with guitarist Carmela. This leads to her becoming the absolute star of the "Folies-Plastiques". One evening Sergei is also among the spectators...
