Jocks plot

"Champions aren't born ... they're made!"

A college tennis team travels to Las Vegas for a regional tournament. It soon turns out that this will be their last match, because the director has canceled all future sports activities. The team's captain and star player struggles to save their university's sports program. The team manages to hold its own in a very miraculous way.

A real fun movie in which a bunch of portrayed losers typically go crazy and have to win a sports tournament for their college along the way. Don Gibb plays the same kind of role here as in The Nerds, a film that is also clearly an inspiration for the diverse composition of the bunch of losers.

A full-blooded eighties soundtrack accompanies the experiences on and off the tennis court. The different characters always provide some hilarity. The Las Vegas location of course only adds to the party atmosphere. The cast does what it should do in these types of films. The eye-catcher is undoubtedly the contribution of Hammer and horror icon Christopher Lee. That alone makes it worth watching. If it's not a cult, then it's still an enjoyable film.
