Je Te Survivrai plot

Forty-year-old Joe is as repulsive as he is loved. He is a real estate agent, in full possession of his assets and able to sell a hovel for the price of a castle, but a complete disaster in terms of feelings, marriage or fatherhood. His neighbor Blanche owns a large house in the countryside and Joe hates her with all his heart. The crumbling slum, her derelict yard and her lousy herd animals give Joe a sense of anger and frustration. The hatred is mutual. Joe is at his wits' end and one day decides to descend into the well that his neighbor supplies water for her pump. But his rope ladder breaks. No one knows where he is except Blanche...
