At the engagement of Wieske and Fred, there is protest from the future in-laws. Wieske's mother does not wish to see her daughter marry the son of a bar owner. Fred's mother thinks her son is too good to marry the baker's daughter. The couple-to-be doesn't care much about their parents' opinions, but the situation escalates.
