Il Merlo Maschio plot

Niccolo Vivaldi plays the cello in the Arena di Verona Orchestra. In the orchestra, however, he is neither the first nor the second cello, which makes Niccolo increasingly frustrated. No one knows his name and his face is not recognized anywhere. His wife Costanza is beautiful and has success everywhere. Out of sheer desperation, Niccolo begins writing a comic opera called "Il Merlo Maschio", but is shocked to discover that he has recomposed an already existing opera.
