"With Einstein as Cupid, what could possibly go wrong?"

The auto mechanic Edward Walters falls in love with the intelligent and beautiful Catherine Boyd. There's a problem, though: she's engaged to James Morland. Fortunately, Albert Einstein, Catherine's uncle, likes Ed very much. Albert and his friends come up with a plan to make Catherine fall in love with Ed.

Carefree film that serves the usual 'they are made for each other but don't know it yet' story with the nice twist that Einstein (Matthau clearly enjoys it) is one of the characters. Charming, without becoming really special.

It's a fun movie to watch, but it's all so bland. They could have done so much more with the storylines.

In itself it was very funny those old men including Einstein who meddle in everything and try to get two lovers together. . This storyline could have been really hilarious but it didn't.

And the story between the two lovers went well in itself, but it just didn't splash off. Very little chemistry. I couldn't even suppress a yawn now and then.

Missed opportunity this movie, it could have been so much fun. 0.5 points extra for that fun 50s atmosphere.
