Tira (Mea West) is a circus performer who tames lions and turns men's heads; especially rich men she can take money from. When she causes a problem and needs money quickly, she decides to perform a new act by putting her head in the mouth of a lion. She also becomes known among high society and here she meets Jack (Cary Grant), according to her the man who had already predicted a clairvoyant for her. Unfortunately, her boss wants to keep her in the circus and devises a ruse to make Jack believe she is unfaithful.
