I Don't Buy Kisses Anymore plot

Shoe salesman Bernie is overweight and lonely and shy. While taking the bus home one evening, he bumps into attractive psychology student Theresa. He is instantly madly in love with her and does everything he can to meet the ideal of beauty. He trains extensively to lose weight, but soon finds out that Theresa is being nice to him because he is the subject of her exam assignment. Bernie decides to do everything in her power to win over Theresa after all.
