"Possibly thousands."
One day, drunkard and business owner Jean Kayak finds out that his business has been destroyed. Forced to survive in the bitter and harsh elements of the wintry wilderness, he becomes a trapper. This allows Jean to trade dead animals for supplies from a grumpy merchant. The latter has a beautiful daughter whom Jean wants to marry. To win his daughter's hand and his blessing, Jean is challenged to hunt down hundreds of beavers.

Wow, that I was still allowed to see a film like this some 100 years after the original slapstick films. And then one from the present tense, which does not take itself so seriously, and therefore delivers such a gem. I was pleasantly surprised! The humor worked very well, the music fits great, and the sound effects are wonderfully exaggerated. The hour and a half flew by. A beautiful and daring project by Cheslik!
Can't say anything other than give this movie a chance.

Crazy, unique low budget mix of live-action and animation, about the battle of a trapper against an army of beavers. In black and white. The low budget works in the film's favor and produces many inventive visual discoveries, although the constant slapstick is mostly very bland and it all lasts far too long. In the last half hour the film goes all out and director Mike Cheslik goes all out with grand (!) spectacle and all kinds of crazy action scenes, but until then it's a lot of work. However, cult status is guaranteed.
