How to Marry a Millionaire plot

"The Most Glamorous Entertainment Of Your Lifetime in CinemaScope. You See It Without Glasses!"

Shatze Page, Pola Debevoise and Loco Dempsey, three models of modest origin, work as fashion models in New York. Although their photos have made the covers of Harpers Bazar and they've walked quite a few fashion shows, they still haven't gotten rich. Worse, they still don't have a wedding ring on their finger. But the ladies do not want to tie the knot with the first person. Charm is one thing, money another. With the aim of snagging a millionaire, the ladies move into a beautiful penthouse. Three months later, Shatze, Pola and Loco are no closer to their goal.

One of the biggest box office successes of 1953. Now it all seems a bit tame and a bit old-fashioned, but it is still worth seeing film goddesses such as Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe at work. This is also the first film - together with The Robe - in history in which cinemascope was used...

Good film in which three ladies come up with a plan to marry a millionaire. A fun and entertaining screwball comedy with funny dialogues and situations. Definitely a product of its time, but therein lies part of its charm. Nowadays you would hardly encounter the musical opening. Furthermore, three wonderful roles by Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall and Betty Grable.

Quite entertaining and also entertaining in itself to see Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe working side by side. You can still find footage of the premiere of this film on YouTube in which you see them arm in arm in front of the cinema in the company of Humphrey Bogart.

For me, Monroe steals the show a bit with her nerdy role. Bacall's role is a kind of anchor point around which the action develops. Fast pace with changing situations. The latter is promoted by the sequence of the individual fates of the three ladies. Not much of a chatter, but I was still able to laugh every now and then.
