Matt is a hopeless romantic. He decides it's time to propose to his girlfriend, Alexis. The day before, he practices the marriage proposal with his best friend Liz. Matt thinks Alexis will answer "yes" because that's always the case in the romantic comedies he watches. Much to his surprise, Alexis answers "no", because she feels that he is only interested in being in love and not in a real relationship. Matt watches some romantic comedies in a drunken stupor and comes up with a plan to win over Alexis again. Liz, who finds Matt's plan absurd, decides to help him anyway. Matt's plan seems to be working and slowly the spark between Matt and Alexis flies again. However, Matt does discover that Alexis and he may have grown too far apart, and learns that his heart belongs to someone else.
