Simple and old-fashioned Marybelle Cobb is a secretary to commercial illustrator Philip Homer, with whom she is secretly in love. When Homer places an ad for a girl with perfect legs to model for a pantyhose manufacturer's ad, Marybelle, with the help of her friend Alice, decides to completely transform herself and apply for the job posting.
