Young and wealthy Consuelo Croyden tries to prevent her former boyfriend from having a new partner before her. She therefore hires the young songwriter Terry Trindale, whom she met at the casino and who needs money. Consuelo pays Terry's gambling debts and pretends to be her boyfriend. The first problem for Consuelo is when it turns out that Terry is in love with her.
