The film centers on a small apartment building in the bland town of Hemet, California and its tyrannical landlord, Liz Topham-Myrtle. A diverse group of tenants suffers the dual burden of Liz’s whims and financial desperation, while also suffering from a pandemic of their own: zombies roam the streets and countryside across the country. With everyone caught between a rock and a hard place, Liz takes full advantage of the social crisis to line her own pockets.
