Family members gather at the mother’s house to celebrate Monster’s latest birthday. Monster is the eldest son, but is treated like an animal by the family because he is mentally and physically disabled. The family agrees to poison Monster on his birthday and keep it a secret. Mother orders everyone to stay in Monster’s room for 10 minutes while the poison courses through his entire body. And so time passes, as the family gets drunk on the drink and their horrific backstories are revealed to Monster, one by one.
