Goodrich plot

Art dealer Andy Goodrich’s life is turned upside down when his wife, the mother of their nine-year-old twins, enters a three-month rehab program and threatens divorce. Andy takes on the care of their children, thrusting him into a world of modern parenthood he is utterly unprepared for. As his career declines, Andy relies on his adult, pregnant daughter from his first marriage, Grace, for support, and gradually becomes the father Grace never had.

Goodrich is a solid film with a solidly playing Michael Keaton of a certain age. It doesn't really stand out anywhere. In other words, solid.

Andy Goodrich [Michael Keaton] has poured his heart and soul into his struggling art gallery. His 36-year-old daughter Grace [Mila Kunis] from his marriage to Ann [Andie MacDowell] is heavily pregnant and his current wife Naomi [Laura Benanti] checks herself into rehab for 90 days and breaks off the relationship. As a result, Andy is left to care for his 9-year-old twins Billie [Vivien Lyra Blair] and Mose [Jacob Kopera]. The initial lack of direction in the script underscores the lack of structure in Andy's life. As Andy is forced to provide that structure, the story comes more into focus. Keaton equals his performance in Birdman and gets excellent counterplay from Kunis, Blair and Kopera. The denouement is very moving.

Solid drama comedy with some lightness. Always a nice genre that is easy to watch. I have the impression that you see less of these kinds of films in recent years. Nice role of Keaton. Of course rather predictable.
