Girl of the Rio plot
"Tostado, the mighty! ...Delores, the dancer-scorning, flouting, outwitting the bes' caballero in all Mexico!"
In Mexicana, Mexico, just across the US border, the beautiful café singer Dolores nicknamed 'The Dove' catches the attention of the very wealthy Don Jose Maria Lopez y Tostado. He brags to her that he is the best caballero in all of Mexico. Don Jose is used to getting what he wants and is initially surprised by Dolores' rejection. She tells him that she has a jealous boyfriend who is also a good marksman. However, Don Jose, who lives on a huge hacienda in the south, is determined to conquer the virgin Dolores.
