Ghost Dad plot
A widower with three young children, the eldest of whom runs the household, spent his financial reserves three years earlier on the futile operations for his wife. Now he is working his way through the seams, with a view to promotion. He is not at home much, but of all absent fathers he is one of the most amusing: he leaves the bedtime stories for his little one on a cassette tape and then he himself, miraculously, dies. That is, before he leaves for the afterlife, he is allowed to wander around for a few more days - like a ghost only visible in darkness - to get his affairs in order.
