In the 1920s, bachelor Walt Wallet finds a baby abandoned on his doorstep and then adopts the boy, whom he names Skeezix. Later, Walt marries Phyllis and they have two children, Corky and Judy. The years go by and after serving in World War II, Skeezix marries and starts his own company. Corky is now in college and Judy in high school. One evening, Corky returns home with the bride Hope and announces that he is leaving college.
