Writer Nick and his wife Emily are expecting their first child. When a repair to their home turns out to cost more than expected, Rick has to put his pride aside and knock on the door of his father, an Italian immigrant with whom he has a difficult relationship. It ensures that the topics of religion and family tradition, which have kept father and son apart for so long, come to play between Nick and his wife.
