Framed plot

After two years in a Parisian prison, art forger Wiley is released. His girlfriend Kate has run off with all his money, leaving Wiley completely destitute back to the US. One day he sees Kate again. Wiley seems to want to reconcile with her, until it turns out that Kate is engaged to underworld figure Elliot Shane ... To save the skin, Philip is willing to give the police information about other criminals. However, he sets the condition that he will be interrogated by Jackson. When Jackson changes under the influence of Philip, he is taken off the case.
