"LOVE DEFIES A DUEL OF DEATH!"
Honest 'Ham' Hamilton is convinced that the fortune hunter Marcia Trent only wants to marry Robert Densmore because of his wealth. Ham therefore tells Marcia that Robert is bankrupt and she then cancels the announced wedding. Disappointed and tired of life, Robert goes to Budapest with Ham. Robert thinks the best way to achieve his death is to start a love affair with Marietta, whose husband Anton Spadissimo is the best swordsman in all of Europe. Spadissimo will surely kill him in a duel. When a duel between Spadissimo and Robert does indeed take place, Ham intervenes. Meanwhile, Marcia has learned the truth about Robert.
