"If you don't have a family member like this, you're not Mexican."
Don Poli is the patriarch of a family entrenched in politics. He is confronted with the change of party in his state - after a hundred years in power - and loses all his privileges. Humiliated and angry, he threatens to disinherit his family and leave to rebuild his life. This forces his children to take extreme measures to secure their future, making everything that could go wrong worse.
