End of the World plot
All over the world it is suddenly raining mysterious spheres consisting of electromagnetic plasma. Any collision with the Earth's surface creates huge voltage spikes that destroy electrical systems, disable communications networks, and turn anyone hit into a pile of ashes. A group of survivors, consisting of a few employees of a video store, use their film knowledge to get out of this chaos.
