Doughboys in Ireland plot
It is 1943. Bandleader and singer Danny O'Keefe has been drafted into the United States Army along with three members of his orchestra, Chuck, Corny and Tiny. Danny's band is known as 'The Jesters'. Danny is unhappy because he has to leave Gloria Gold, the beautiful singer of The Jesters behind. Fortunately, Danny doesn't have to worry about being unfaithful to him when he has to serve his country. Danny spends every spare minute writing letters to Gloria, but she passes them on to her elderly secretary to answer. Danny and his buddies are meanwhile stationed somewhere in Ireland.
