Years ago, Judge Ernst Blessing's daughter turned her back on him and married the Kurd Baran. Blessing didn't hear from them for years until the day his daughter was killed in a traffic accident. Unexpectedly, his two grandchildren, 8-year-old Hewi and 15-year-old Dilo, are left to care for until their father is released from the hospital. The retired judge tries to take care of the children as best he can. He tries to teach them values and standards that he finds important. Sometimes he's right, sometimes he's not...
