Die Gänse von Bützow plot

The town of Bützow in the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Widow Hombostel is the best goose herder in the whole area. For seven years she provides board and lodging to Mayor Dr. Hane, hoping to bring him to the altar someday. She pays him an unequivocal visit in his bedroom, but Hane escapes through the window. To annoy the widow, the mayor issues a 'goose commandment', which forbids the animals to roam free any longer. The woman therefore moves the master Albus to play the citizens off against Hane.
