Der Doppelgänger plot

The young fashion journalist Brigitte Kaufmann is no longer very happy in her marriage and is toying with the idea of getting a divorce. Benno, a photographer with whom Brigitte works closely and who has since become a good friend of the Kaufmanns, wants to prevent this and devises a frantic plan. He knows a pianist, Reinhard Engel, who resembles Brigitte's husband Jèrg like two drops of water. And when Jèrg goes on a business trip, Benno lets Reinhard take his place to show Brigitte a completely different side of her husband...
